KSHB: Go Red for Women and Saint Luke's Women's Heart Center's 25th Anniversary
February 1 is Go Red for Women Day as we kick off the start of Heart Month.
Go Red for Women Day aims to raise awareness for women's heart health. Heart disease is the number one killer of women and can have very different symptoms in women than as in men.
This February carries extra special meaning for the Saint Luke's Muriel I. Kauffman Women's Heart Center-- its 25th anniversary since it opened in 1994.
Dr. Tracy Stevens, a cardiologist at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, talked to KSHB about how women can take control of their heart health and how far the Women's Center has come.
