KCTV: Saint Luke’s Working to Learn More About Pregnant Women with Heart Disease
After collapsing at work while pregnant and being pronounced clinically dead, 22-year-old Cheyenne Mize lost her baby.
Cheyenne was rushed to Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, where doctors found multiple heart issues and put her on ECMO, a form of life support, for eight days.
Now, Cheyenne, who is pregnant again, is part of a new study at Saint Luke's helping pregnant women with heart disease.
KCTV talked to Dr. Laura Schmidt, a cardiologist working on the study, about how it's making pregnancy for those women a little easier.
