KSHB: SCAD: The Top Cause of Heart Attacks in Young Women

KSHB talked to Dana Garrison, a healthy and active woman who was diagnosed with SCAD after experiencing a sudden onset of symptoms at work.
"These patients are most generally otherwise healthy and otherwise have normal looking coronary arteries without plaque or cholesterol built up, " said Dr. Anna Grodzinsky, a cardiologist who specializes in SCAD and leads the SCAD data registry at Saint Luke's. "But they do have this finding of the tear of the coronary artery or blood vessel."
