FOX4: Ventilators for COVID-19 come with scary stats, but one KC doctor says there's more to the story
As New York City, Italy, and China were all in short supply of ventilators amid the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers studying patients placed on the machines in those areas discovered a high percentage of those patients died.
However, Dr. Amelia Fitzpatrick, pulmonary critical care physician at Saint Luke's East Hospital, explains this is not the case in the Kansas City area where doctors are seeing much higher success rates.
