KCTV: ‘Angel Eye’ app connects families with patients in hospitals amid pandemic

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the few in the area with Angel Eye, a secure monitor that allows parents to see their precious babies in the NICU from anywhere. 

Zanetta gave birth to her baby girl Pheonix at 23 weeks, weighing slightly over one pound. Having a baby in the NICU is a roller coaster ride and Zanetta and her husband have been given greater peace of mind knowing they can look in on Pheonix day or night.. 

“With the Angel Eye, I was able to at least look at her, watch her grow. If I couldn’t be up here even the nurses sometimes can tell when I’m out and they’ll just give me a thumbs up to let me know she’s doing just fine which is so heartwarming, so fulfilling,” Zanetta said.

The Angel Eye technology was partially funded through donations to the Saint Luke’s Foundation and the Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City Auxiliary through their Holly Ball event. Because of the support of generous donors, families and mothers like Zanetta can see their little one grow, even when they are not by their side.  A big thank you to Saint Luke's Foundation for helping make sure families stay connected with their baby and care team.
