The Kansas City Beacon: Older adults in Kansas City are facing increased anxiety, depression during the pandemic
For many seniors in Kansas City, everyday social interactions have been disrupted for eight months. Even before the pandemic, many felt isolated, and the pandemic has exacerbated the issue.
The Beacon talked to Dr. Kadie Harry, psychologist with Saint Luke's Behavioral Health, about what she's seeing in her older patients and how people can help their loved ones.
Mendi Hannah at Saint Luke's Bishop Spencer Place also spoke with The Beacon about what the assisted and independent living facility is doing to help combat loneliness and depression while residents are dealing with less outside interaction.
