Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary
Our dedicated volunteers have a wide range of responsibilities throughout Hedrick that complement their interests and skills. Members represent many age groups and parts of the community—parents, grandparents, business people, long-time volunteers, and young adults. We would not be the hospital we are today without the efforts of our wonderful volunteers.
How to join our volunteer team
The requirements are few; the rewards are many. Volunteers should be dependable and friendly with flexible schedules. As part of the auxiliary, you’ll experience a welcoming volunteer environment, tasks that suit your interests and skills, the satisfaction of helping others, and a free meal in the Garden Café during your shift.
You must be at least 18 years of age (exceptions made for high school groups and programs).

Scholarship program
The Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary is pleased to announce the continuation of the scholarship program for area residents. Students already enrolled in or admitted to a degree program in a health care field are eligible for the scholarship.
The Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 to encourage qualified individuals to pursue or enrich a career in the health care field. Scholarships are awarded annually. To date, $112,500 in scholarships have been awarded to area students.
Each $500 scholarship requires recipients to share their grades and/or school status if requested by the Auxiliary. Students may apply for and receive this award yearly throughout their degree program.
To be eligible for the scholarship candidates must have been accepted into an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university health care program and must provide a copy of the program acceptance letter from the college or university they are attending.
Applications also require biographical information, a short essay, and two letters of recommendation.
The Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship is open to anyone meeting the above criteria whose permanent address is in a zip code that begins with 646xx.
Scholarship applications must be postmarked or received by Friday, May 24, 2024.
Applications can be found at saintlukeskc.org/hedrick-application. Any questions can be directed to Lindy Chapman, Auxiliary Liaison at 660-214-8107 or linchapman@saintlukeskc.org.
