Saint Luke’s Names Marshaun Butler as Administrator for Crittenton Children’s Center
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Luke’s Health System (SLHS) has named Marshaun Butler as Administrator of Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City Crittenton Children’s Center. In this position, Butler will lead and oversee Crittenton’s long-term strategy, initiatives, and programs, including inpatient hospitalization, adolescent substance abuse, residential treatment, in-home counseling, outpatient clinic, and foster care and adoption.
The former Children’s Mercy administrator brings a wealth of operational and strategic planning experience, having served in multiple leadership roles including Vice President of Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas and Clinical Support Services, Chief Diversity Officer, and Vice President over Regional Medical Practices during her 18-year tenure.

It is a privilege to have the opportunity to do this work and to help build on that legacy to impact our community’s future.”
Born and raised in Kansas City, Butler is passionate about community impact, serving as a board member for multiple civic groups and organizations. She believes her deep community connections and experience will be an important benefit in her new role.
“I have always had a service-driven mindset, and this is part of the fabric of who I am,” says Butler. “I am deeply vested in inspiring hope and improving the quality of life for youth in the communities Crittenton serves. Supporting and improving the mental health of the children and adolescents we treat, as well as their families, is critically important to the future health and success of our communities and is a natural alignment between my personal and professional values and priorities.”
Butler earned her master’s in health services administration from the University of Kansas and her bachelor’s in business management-health care administration from Fisk University. She officially assumed her new position on November 1, 2021.
