Andrew Sauer, MD, to Join Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute

Kansas City, Mo. — As part of Saint Luke’s Health System’s continuous efforts to extend comprehensive care across the region and beyond, Saint Luke’s is pleased to announce that Andrew Sauer, MD, will join the Saint Luke’s Cardiovascular Consultants team effective July 11. Dr. Sauer is a cardiologist specializing in heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.

As a leading cardiology and heart surgery program, Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute is dedicated to building on its legacy through high-quality patient care, research, and medical education. The addition of Dr. Sauer underscores Saint Luke’s commitment to providing heart care to patients in an even broader geographic area.

Dr. Sauer will be working in outreach and with heart failure and transplant patients at Anderson County Hospital in Garnett, KS, Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO, Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, MO, and at SLHS clinics in Clinton, Warrensburg, and Wichita.

Dr. Sauer joins Saint Luke’s from the University of Kansas Health System, where he provided leadership for its heart failure, heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support, remote monitoring, and research programs. Dr. Sauer earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.  He completed his internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and his training in cardiovascular disease at Northwestern University Medical Center.
