KCUR: A Kansas City Doctor Says Heart Disease Needs to be Taken More Seriously in Women

Once considered predominantly a men's disease, heart disease kills more women each year than cancer. One Kansas City doctor says that men and women are mistakenly prescribed different preventative treatment regimens.

Dr. Tracy Stevens, a cardiologist at Saint Luke's Muriel I. Kauffman Women's Heart Center at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, talked with Steve Kraske about women's heart health, patient advocacy, and the importance of gener-aware studies.
