Pharmacy Informatics Rotation APPE
Saint Luke’s Pharmacy Informatics APPE Rotation is designed to allow the pharmacy student learners an opportunity for first-hand experience in pharmacy informatics. During the rotation, the student will gain exposure to pharmacy informatics roles within an integrated health system, including configuration of an electronic health record, overview of pharmacy automation, and administrative responsibilities within informatics. The student will work with various members of the Information Services Pharmacy team, including roles related to pharmacy automation, analysts, and pharmacy informaticists.

Potential Daily Activities, Projects, and Topics
- Attend and participate in pharmacy IT-related meetings
- Participate in activities related to the configuration of an electronic health record
- Assist in testing new configuration of records within an electronic health record
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings related to projects
- Complete data analysis to review past project outcomes or direct future work
- Develop understanding of the impact of technology on pharmacy distribution
