Pharmacy Technician Training Program
The Pharmacy Technician Training Program at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is a 12-week, full-time paid program, which consists of online classwork, hands-on simulations, and real-life experiences. Program trainee’s will learn the necessary skills to be successful as a health system pharmacy technician.
Saint Luke’s Health System offers technicians the opportunity to work in both the ambulatory and inpatient pharmacy setting. The pharmacy department's mission is to ensure patients achieve the best medication-related outcomes possible. Our technicians are integral to our pursuit of this mission.
Upon graduation of the Pharmacy Technician Training Program, trainees will be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Exam. Upon passing, they will be eligible for a Pharmacy Technician I role within Saint Luke's.
Benefits
Trainees will receive the same benefits as full time employees of Saint Luke's Health System, including medical, vision, and dental insurance. Saint Luke’s will cover the cost for the trainee to take the PTCB exam. They will also have access to free parking and on-site outpatient pharmacy.
Requirements
Prior to entering the program, prospective trainees will need to apply for a Missouri Pharmacy Technician License. A $35 fee and fingerprinting are required to apply for a Missouri Pharmacy Technician License. Additionally, candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and complete all onboarding screening/background checks.
