Saint Luke's Medical Education Programs

A tradition of learning excellence

Since 1887, Saint Luke’s has played an integral role in high-quality, expert medical education in the Kansas City area and beyond. Saint Luke’s Hospital is the primary privately affiliated teaching hospital for the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC). While much has changed in the hospital’s history, Saint Luke’s remains committed to educating future generations of compassionate doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals.

Residencies and fellowships

Allied Health programs

Saint Luke’s offer students nationally accredited allied health programs in areas such as imaging and laboratory science. Additionally, a clinical pastoral program is available that teaches theology students how to serve as chaplains in health care settings.

The allied health programs combine classroom learning with hands-on clinical or internship experience. For student convenience, many programs offer 2+2 agreements with other institutions for a bridge to undergraduate degrees.

Medical student training

Saint Luke's offers hands-on medical training in a variety of specialties and disciplines, with clerkship opportunities in women's health and general surgery. These rotations are invaluable opportunities to participate in the doctor-patient relationship while learning the basic concepts required in the medical field.
